September 1, 2017 Huntsville Rotary Club Minutes

The first meeting of the 9th month found 21 Club members and 3 guests enjoying the noon buffet at Don’s Family Style Restaurant in Huntsville.  President Ken asked Darrel to return thanks to our Lord, noting we had a lot of time on our clock.  Next we recited our pledge of allegiance to the Flag, before introducing our guests, Ben Albright one of our dove hunting guides, Moberly Rotarian Sam Richardson, and Kelton Serio dove shooting grandson of Charlie’s.

With no new or old business, our Leader asked Dan for the weather report and dove shoot update.  Mild to warmer weather followed by normal temps next week and chilly evenings are the forecast with little chance of precipitation.  Dove hunt will generate almost $6,000 for our Club Foundation, thanks to Jan & Dan sponsoring the event.  Phil has drawn up a brief waiver for hunters to sign at the hunt and we are to report to Shepherd Farms by 2:30 pm and draw for blinds as well as go over the strict rules for safety. Wayne is standing by to deliver any Club Members carry in dish.

No program today so we continued with our personal history divulging various unknown traits of our lives and sharing with the Club.

President Ken asked Clay for the Last Word and then we were adjourned.  Charlie Serio is on the program schedule for next week.
